"First Online India-UK SPARC symposium on Transcriptional Dynamics in Developmental Biology", was organized in collaboration with Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and University of Manchester, UK on August 10-11, 2020 at 1:00 PM IST. This symposium was primarily sponsored by Scheme for Promotion of Academic Research Collaboration (SPARC) funded by the Ministry of Human and Resource Development, Govt. of India. In addition, contributions from UKIERI, University of Manchester and JNU were also acknowledged.
The symposium was inaugurated by Prof Jagdesh Kumar, the Vice Chancellor, JNU and attended by the SPARC project team, including Prof Shandar Ahmad (India PI), Prof. Nicoletta Bobola (UK PI), Prof. Rupesh Chaturvedi (India Co-PI) and Prof. Rakesh Bhatnagar (Vice-Chancellor, Banaras Hindu University, and India-PI) as Co-PIs. Head of the International Collaboration Unit (ICO), JNU, Prof. Shrad Soni also joined the program.
The registrations for the event opened on July 17th, 2020 and was closed on August 1, 2020. The total number of registrations till Aug 1st were 845. To make the event research field specific and specialized, only participants above the level of Masters degree were approved to join the event. The total number of approved participants were 660 including students, researchers and faculty members from different levels of their career.
The participants were interested in the talks and clarified their doubts regarding the talk and got answers as suggestions for their own research work in the similar field during Q&A sessions. The response from the participants was great and many appreciative comments were received after the talk. For questions that could not be answered by the speaker, the participants were suggested to contact via mail.
During the whole event, along with the organizers, the volunteers made sure the event does not get delayed and everything works out smoothly. We thank the following for their constant efforts:
